Fire agate is a variety of Chalcedony, which was produced during ancient volcanic eruption. Hidden underneath the chalcedony are translucent/opaque colors in the form of bands, bubbles, sheets, swirls, or rainbow pattern. A gem cut fire agate is by far more rare than diamonds, rubies, or emeralds. Each and every one is an individual and can never be replaced or duplicated. Fire agate is found in the southwestern United States and Mexico. It is used for jewelry, figures, sculptures, beads, and many cultures believe Fire Agates contain mystical properties, and will grant the wearer health and protection.
